Tramadol has been around for a century, but never has tramadol skyrocketed like it has in the last few years. Tramadol is a prescription only pain medication that can be offered as pain medication in replacement of stronger and more potent pain medications. Although tramadol is very potent itself, its’ effects are a little less than of morphine. Tramadol is pain medication that is to be prescribed by a doctor and used carefully not to abuse tramadol, because tramadol can cause serious damage to the body if used wrong or too much.
Tramadol is a prescription medication that is taken orally, usually once or twice a day. It helps in reducing moderate to moderately severe pain. Tramadol can is also used in patients who suffer from chronic pain. It is most often prescribed for the treatment of the following types of pain:
- Severe back pain
- Migraines
- Broken ligaments
- Sprains
- Cancer pain
- Long-term pain
- Chronic pain
Tramadol can be used for severe pain that doesn't go away quickly. Tramadol is a good choice of medication to be used in short increments of time. It's recommended that Tramadol be used only a few days in a row, at a time, because of the chance of developing dependancy.
HOW TRAMADOL WORKS
Tramadol is a white bitter substance that is put into pill form in doses of 50mg – 100mg. You are not to exceed 400mg a day of tramadol unless recommended by a doctor. First doses should be small and approved by your physician. Tramadol is to be taken with extreme caution because some side affects may occur:
-
Dizziness
-
Nausea
-
Drowsiness
-
Dry mouth
-
Constipation
-
Headache
- Sweating
SEVERE AFFECTS:
If any of these symptoms occur, please contact your doctor immediately. Tramadol works by cutting off the pain signals that are leading to the brain when in severe pain. It usually will take up to 2 hours before tramadol will kick in, but then will last for up to 24 hours. You are to only take tramadol once a day and at the required dose recommended by your doctor. If a dose of tramadol is missed, don’t take tramadol again, just simply take tramadol when you do remember and continue using tramadol once a day from then out. DO NOT take 2 doses of tramadol at a time. An overdose of tramadol may result in respiratory depression and/or seizures of the body. If interested in tramadol, please ask your doctor for more information and whether or not tramadol is right for you.
